This is Wings for Life
One wrong step. A moment of carelessness. Suddenly paraplegic. According to WHO estimates, between 250,000 and 500,000 people suffer a traumatic spinal cord injury every year. This means: no feeling in the legs, and in the worst case, no feeling in the arms and hands. Inability to move. One is constantly dependent on help. Wings for Life wants to help. The non-profit Wings for Life Foundation promotes cutting-edge research worldwide. The big goal: to cure paraplegia.
The Wings for Life World Run
At the Wings for Life World Run, more than a hundred thousand runners start at the same time worldwide. There is no finish line. Instead, 30 minutes after the start, the Catcher Car starts moving and overtakes the runners and wheelchair users one by one. All entry fees and donations go 100 percent to spinal cord research.
This year, the Wings for Life World Run will take place on May 7, 2023 (1:00 p.m.). At some locations there are so-called Flagship Runs. Means: You go together with many other people to the start. Among others, in Munich's Olympic Park, not far from our home. We count on you!
