After Friday night's success against Cologne (3:2 n.V.) - and thus the second home win in a row - our boys are definitely traveling to Mannheim with a good feeling and a lot of self-confidence. "I expect the Adler to attack. We absolutely have to be ready," demands the Munich striker.
Problems with scoring goals
Dallas Eakins has replaced Johan Lundskog at the helm in Mannheim since the end of November. So far, the change of coach has not had a major impact on the Adler's standings. The eight-time German champions (most recently in 2019) are stuck in mid-table and in the middle of the battle for sixth place. January has also been anything but satisfactory, with five defeats so far. On Friday evening, the Eagles at least won 4:2 against the Iserlohn Roosters.
Offensively in particular, things are stuck. The top-class offense around Linden Vey, Tom Kühnhackl and Co. is not really getting up to speed. Even in the powerplay, things are still not going well - with numerical superiority on the ice, Mannheim is statistically one of the most harmless teams in the league.
