Top match at Oberwiesenfeld: Red Bulls welcome Berlin
Saturday, 13. January 2024 | DEL: EHC Red Bull Munich welcomes Eisbären Berlin
Top match at Oberwiesenfeld: Red Bulls welcome Berlin// DEL - PREVIEWEHC Red Bull Munich heads into its next top game with a clean slate so far in the calendar year 2024. Eisbären Berlin visit Oberwiesenfeld for the first time this season at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday (live on MagentaSport, on our blog & DF1).
After the derby on Friday evening in Nuremberg (1-2), the Eisbären Berlin now await our boys. The Red Bulls will be looking to extend their unblemished home record so far this year against the German capital and at the same time secure their first win against Berlin this season.
Sold-out Olympia-Eisstadion
The top match is already sold out. However, you still have a small chance: If ticket holders are unable to attend the game on site, they can offer their tickets on our secondary market.
Fans
There they are then directly activated for resale. If tickets are offered, you can find them directly in the event by clicking on the "Ticket exchange" button. We also recommend that all stadium visitors arrive early, as matches for the 2024 European Handball Championship will be taking place in the Olympic Hall at the same time.
"We absolutely want to win"
"We've already played the Eisbären twice in Berlin. The first game didn't go so well, but we only narrowly lost the second game," says Mathias Niederberger, recalling the previous encounters in this round with his former club. In fact: After a clear home win in Berlin in the first encounter (2:6), the Red Bulls took one point from the second duel in December (1:2 after a penalty shoot-out).

The reigning German champions have big plans for their first clash in front of a home crowd. "We absolutely want to win. That's why we're working on a lot of little things to make sure it works on Sunday," our number 35 made clear.
DEL record in foreign halls: Munich & Berlin in lockstep
The main reason for the Eisbären's good season so far is their strength on the road. The Berliners set a DEL record two weeks ago and are by far the best team in the league on the road for good reason - even though they lost 6-2 in Straubing on Friday night.

The game at the Eisbären on the second Advent in pictures
Between October 3 and December 30 of last year, the Eisbären won twelve games in a row on foreign ice. Only our Red Bulls in the previous season and Adler Mannheim in the 2001/02 season managed to do so, and only the Pinguins Bremerhaven ended Berlin's run of success on January 7 (5:1).
In other words, no team in the German ice hockey top flight has ever managed 13 consecutive victories in rival halls.
Top offense in the league
In addition, coach Serge Aubin's team is running at full speed in attack. 130 goals are the best figure in the league, and Leo Pföderl and Co. have already scored 74 times away from home alone. Marcel Noebels and Zach Boychuk already have over 30 scoring points, and six Eisbären have also scored in double figures.
New forward Jaedon Descheneau had also fitted in well with five goals in ten games, but the Canadian is out due to a muscle injury. Blaine Byron (nine goals) is also still unable to play due to injury.
