Red Bull München will open the season on September 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Czech representative Vítkovice Ridera. Just two days later, on September 3 (3:00 p.m.), they will play the reigning Extraliga champions Oceláři Třinec. The venues of our two Czech opponents are only around 40 kilometers apart.
This is followed by a three-game home stand at Oberwiesenfeld against Slovakian club HC Košice (September 8, 7:30 p.m.), the "derby" against the Austrian Sharks from HC Innsbruck (September 10, 4:30 p.m.) and the reunion with Finnish top club Lukko Rauma (October 10, 7:30 p.m.). At the end of the regular CHL season, the Red Bulls go against Färjestad Karlstad in Sweden (October 17, 7:00 p.m.). Advance ticket sales start on July 11.
New mode in the CHL preliminary round
The opponents were already drawn on May 24 in a modified mode. Instead of the previous 32 clubs, only 24 teams from twelve different nations will now fight for the title in Europe's top league. In the preliminary round (August 31 to October 18, 2023), all teams will then be listed in an overall table. Each team will play six games against six different opponents (three home, three away), with the top 16 qualifying for the playoffs (November 14, 2023 to January 17, 2024). These remain unchanged.
In addition to Munich, Adler Mannheim and ERC Ingolstadt from the PENNY DEL are also participating.
