Ice hockey in Germany continues to grow. After the attendance record in the past 2023/24 season, the German Ice Hockey League can report a new high and a significant increase this season.
PENNY DEL remains the spectator champion
After the 52. and final match day on Friday, more than 2.8 million fans will have come to the arenas. By way of comparison, a total of 2.61 million spectators attended the regular season last year. The average attendance per game has thus increased from around 7,160 to 7,750 for each game – an increase of around eight percent.
This means that the PENNY DEL remains the clear number one among Europe's top leagues in terms of spectator numbers. The gap to the second-placed Swiss National League, which attracts an average of 7,365 spectators per game, has been further extended.
