Third World Cup preparation phase: Red Bulls trio travelling to the national teamDEB appoints Ehliz, Kastner and Niederberger// NATIONAL TEAMNational team coach Harold Kreis announced his squad for the third phase of preparations for the World Championship in the Czech Republic on Monday. With Yasin Ehliz, Maxi Kastner and Mathias Niederberger, three Red Bulls players are also in the squad.

The third of a total of four preparation phases for the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship begins this week, with the DEB team testing twice against Austria. First up is a clash on April 25 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (19:00), followed two days later by a trip to Zell am See (April 27, 16:15).

The national coach's 26-man squad for the upcoming preparation games also includes three professionals from EHC Red Bull München. Ehliz, Kastner and Niederberger will be in the national team squad for the double-header against Austria.

Kreis is looking forward to "new arrivals from Munich"

National coach Kreis on the third phase of preparation: "We have developed over the course of the first two weeks of preparation and are well on the way to finding our identity, which we need for the task at the World Championships. Nevertheless, there is still a lot of joint work ahead of us, which we will now tackle more intensively in phase three. The main focus will be on our defensive work and structure. We will welcome our three new arrivals from Munich and add them to our squad. At the same time, we would like to thank the players who are no longer with us for their commitment in phases one and two."

At the World Championship in the Czech Republic, the German team will face Slovakia (May 10), the USA (May 11), Sweden (May 12), Latvia (May 15), Kazakhstan (May 17), Poland (May 18) and France (May 21).
