To mark this extraordinary match, there will be a tribute to our number 93 in the run-up to the game. In addition to a jersey presentation with the historic number on the back, a special clip on the video cube and a few surprises await the striker. Parts of his family will also play a role in the ceremony.
Kastner: "I'm very grateful for that"
"My family is a huge support for me. Whether at championships, finals, world championships or even after defeats," explains the 32-year-old. "I've learned a lot from my brothers, who have certainly played a big part in my career. I'm sure they are also happy about this record. I'm very grateful for that."
Kastner played his first game for the Red Bulls on December 18, 2014 against the Hamburg Freezers, who were still playing in the DEL at the time. This was followed by ten more seasons, 512 more games in the DEL, four championships with EHC Red Bull München including an award as Finals MVP (best player of the playoffs) and a final appearance in the Champions Hockey League.
On Friday, Kastner will then draw level with Boyle and become the club record player. Congratulations, Maxi!
