Hager's hunger for the title: 52 days left until the start of the DEL// DEL - CURRENTThe number 52 has weight at Red Bull München. It belongs to Patrick Hager, the captain and leader of the German champions, for six years now. In 52 days, Hager and his teammates will start the project of defending their title in the DEL.

The champions will open the 30th season of the German Ice Hockey League on September 14 (7:30 p.m.) with a home game against Düsseldorfer EG. In 52 main round match days, the 14 teams will fight for the best starting position for the playoffs.

If it's up to Hager, this season will start the way the last one ended: with a win. Our boys will work hard for this in the coming weeks. On July 29th and 30th, the contingent players arrive in Munich, a little later coach Toni Söderholm calls for the official start of training.

Pure experience, great hunger for the title

Hager knows that hard work is elementary in the preparation. He knows the game. Our captain is entering his 17th season in the House of Lords. With 878 DEL appearances (518 points), the 34-year-old is the most experienced player in our squad. But the hunger for titles is still huge, even though he has already celebrated three championships (two with Munich, one with Ingolstadt).

Hager's goal: This special season - it's the last one at the Olympia-Eisstadion - should end successfully. After that comes the move to the new home of the Red Bulls, more precisely to the SAP Garden.
