Red Bulls want to extend home series against Iserlohn
Friday, 22. December 2023 | DEL preview: EHC Red Bull Munich welcomes the Iserlohn Roosters
Red Bulls want to extend home series against IserlohnChristmas matchday against the Roosters// DEL - PRELIMINARY REPORTOn Saturday, one day before Christmas Eve, EHC Red Bull München will face the Iserlohn Roosters for the third time this season. The game at the Olympia-Eisstadion kicks off at 4:30 pm. There are a number of highlights surrounding the game.
The Red Bulls returned to Munich from their long away trip from Bremerhaven with a point in their luggage. For a long time it even looked like the Penguins would win before the North Germans equalized in the 47th minute to make it 1:1. "We gave them too many chances and they took advantage of that. That's how Bremerhaven got back into the game," summarized our scorer Austin Ortega. The runners-up had the better end in the penalty shoot-out. "Now we're looking ahead, want to finish 2023 well and keep getting better in the new year," said the American.
Highlights: Iserlohn Roosters vs. Red Bull München (31.10.2023)
// DEL - HIGHLIGHTS
Compact defense
Thanks to our strong goalkeeper Daniel Allavena, we have only conceded one goal in regulation time. The team has therefore never conceded more than two goals per game in the last eight matches. Five of these games ended 2:1.
Against the Roosters, they will now be looking to put more shots in the back of the net again. The signs are good, as Munich scored nine goals in the first two games of the season against the Sauerland team. The Red Bulls won 4:0 at Oberwiesenfeld and in Iserlohn the final score was 5:2.
Christmas matchday shortly before Christmas Eve
One day before Christmas Eve, the Olympia-Eisstadion will be filled with Christmas spirit. There will be various activities surrounding the game, culminating in a Christmas concert by the Munich Boys' Choir after the match.

// HIGHLIGHTS
We invite you to stay in your seats for a while after the game. After a short set-up, the choir will perform the Christmas carols "Merry Christmas", "Jingle Bells" and "Silent Night" together with the coaches and players.
We would be delighted if all visitors could join us in singing Silent Night, probably the most famous Christmas carol in the world. We will of course show the lyrics on our video cube.
Hardly any effect after change of coach
The Roosters have had a difficult season so far. With 23 points, Iserlohn are bottom of the table. The gap to 13th place is six points, and on Thursday Iserlohn lost 3-0 in Nuremberg. Before that, they lost 0:1 in Düsseldorf. The Roosters have not scored a goal in two games.

With 61 goals, coach Doug Shedden's team has the weakest offense in the league. The Canadian took over from Greg Poss in mid-November, but the turnaround has not yet been achieved. In eleven games under Shedden, Iserlohn picked up eleven points. At least the defence has stabilized somewhat in recent weeks, even if 118 goals conceded is the negative figure in the league.
So everything is in place. With a concentrated performance over 60 minutes, the Red Bulls will be looking to secure their fifth home win in a row and put three points under the Christmas tree.
