Always on board: these are our perennial favorites
Tuesday, 19. December 2023 | DEL: The perennial favorites at EHC Red Bull Munich
Always on board: these are our perennial favoritesFour players with a chance of the "perfect" season// NEWSThe main round of the PENNY DEL has entered its second half and, like every other club, we too have had to report some absences in the meantime. However, a sextet from EHC Red Bull Munich has yet to miss a game this season.
Defensemen Ryan McKiernan and Konrad Abeltshauser as well as forwards Trevor Parkes, Nico Krämmer, Patrick Hager and Maximilian Kastner have always been there and have 28 games each.
Playoff MVP Kastner towers above them all
Kastner covered 123.446 kilometers in these games, almost three marathons (126.585 kilometers). An impressive statistic, albeit not a big surprise: our playoff MVP did not miss a single match in the last championship season.
Kastner has been on the ice 102 times since the start of the 2022/23 season. No other DEL player has made as many appearances in this period. The last time "Kasti" was absent was on March 9, 2022 in Augsburg.

Captain Hager leads the way
Hager hasn't missed a game this season either. Our captain is also leading the way in terms of play and tops the Red Bulls' internal scorer list with 19 goals.
The 35-year-old is also helping the German champions this season as an absolute all-rounder. Hager is one of our most active players at 5-on-5, in the powerplay and also when short-handed.
Ice time: defenders dominate
In the ice time category, however, Hager and his fellow forwards have to give way to the defensive specialists. Our number one in terms of time on the cold surface is McKiernan. With 529:33 minutes of ice time, he's the most prolific player among the long-time stars.

Abeltshauser is particularly in demand when we are outnumbered. "Koni" is our penalty-killing boss. No player gets as much playing time (84:21 minutes) as the 1.96-meter colossus when we were in the minority on the ice.
Goal scorer Parkesy and all-rounder Krämmer
The top DEL goalscorer in the Red Bulls' club history is also one of our most successful scorers this season. Parkes has scored nine times so far - only Chris DeSousa (ten goals) tops that.
You can also rely on Krämmer. The new signing from Adler Mannheim is an all-purpose weapon. He is dangerous when it comes to scoring (seven goals), but also works hard at the back and is therefore a sought-after man, especially when outnumbered. On one occasion, our attacker even started in defense.
Quartet with a chance of the "perfect" season
Like McKiernan, Abeltshauser and Parkes, Krämmer has also not missed any of our eight Champions League games this season.
Only this quartet still has the chance to play in all competitive matches and thus achieve the "perfect" season. The next milestone on this path is the away game at league leaders Pinguins Bremerhaven on Thursday (7:30 p.m.).
